Amanda dreams of a vacation to Fargo
Though it would make more sense to visit Key Largo
Fargo’s closer and makes more sense
And an island would be much more of an expense
—
She wants to take her pup and cat with her
The rental’s interior should match their fur
‘Cause it’ll be deep on the seats if they ride too far
For the pet supplies and luggage they’ll need a big car
—
When Amanda was young she drove a Pacer
And she drank Patron with a Miller Lite chaser
At forty four she drinks no more
She drives an El Camino – she loves its lore
—
These days Amanda drinks totally tea
But she’s quite man crazy – it’s a sight to see
Her animals watch closely over her
They’re both well behaved – no trouble do they stir
—
Once in awhile – Amanda solves a mystery
She really enjoys if it involves medieval history
She goes out Friday nights with her bff Molly
They never run into their nemesis Cassie Hawley
—
Cassie is married to Amanda’s ex Lloyd
Molly’s in love with Cassie’s ex Boyd
No one can keep the love triangles straight
There’s just so very much gossip of late
—
No vacay for Amanda – she’ll just stay home
In her garden she’ll spread bark dust and loam
Anyway there was a murder in town last week
The bffs will investigate – they’re anything but meek
—
They won’t tell the cops – they’ll do it on their own
They’ve solved three mysteries – their ability they’ve shown
This town is small – but it’s anything but cozy
The glasses are dark – not at all rosy
—
They’ll sneak to the crime scene after midnight
Like Velma they need glasses to better their eyesight
This is fiction and not realistic
It’s more like Scooby Doo and very simplistic
—
Amanda and Molly are cozy mystery writers
The books have many recipes and are not nail biters
This time they’re having trouble with the formulaic plot
Time will tell if they can make their deadline or not
—
End (For Now)
