Rebellious Hazelnuts is a site where you’ll find only fiction. I read nonfiction, but i don’t write it. I write fairytales, surrealist stories, fantasy flash fiction, etc. You won’t find a scrap of truth anywhere on this site, except for the facts i’ll tell you about myself here.
I turned 57 years old day before yesterday.
I’m a creature of habit, much like a cat. I love cats, and have one. Well, really, she owns me. My husband and i live in this house, but she runs the place, and we are more like her admins. More often than not, you’ll find one cat or more in my stories. I also love dogs, rabbits, turtles, all animals, *even* spiders and snakes. Though the latter two, i don’t want in my house if it’s all the same.
I have a particular fascination with the moon, its phases and the constellations. So they will appear on my pages, also. Often, personified.
I love literary fiction, some fantasy fiction, and above all, i love a good mystery. Christie, Rex Stout, Dorothy L. Sayers, Ngaio Marsh, et al. And John D. MacDonald and Raymond Chandler. Can’t forget MacDonald and Chandler. For modern literary mystery writers, i love Attica Locke, Liam Callanan, James Lee Burke, and Benjamin Black, (real name, John Banville.)
Sometimes my stories are (sort of) well grounded, other times they’re around the bend/out to lunch. Up in the clouds? I’ve been told i write post-modernist noir on acid, and that makes me happy.

I’m spending a lot less time online until after Nov. 3rd. So much doom all over the internet. I’ve axed most of the news too. It’s the same. I’ve been accused of no knowing what’s going on, but i know exactly what’s going on. I just need a break from the screaming.
